It’s Christmas next week, what a fantastic time of the year. We hope you enjoy spending time with your family and friends. Obviously Christmas in a time of indulgence and fun, whether it’s an extra serve of trifle or the annual game of backyard cricket. It’s important to remember to look after yourself and do a little more to ensure your body holds up to the rigors of the festive season.

Here are some handy hints to get you through the festive season…

  1. Maintain your routine- if the gym is part of your weekly routine, keep going. Use the extra time you have on holidays to get that extra session in.
  2. Instead of a mid afternoon xmas nap go for a walk instead. The walk will help get rid of some of those extra calories and give you some more room for the meals later in the day.
  3. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FINISH EVERYTHING ON YOUR PLATE…portion control is incredibly hard at this time of year so eat till you are satisfied, not till you are full.
